Project Management Skills for K-12 Educators
The 3E Institute Seminar in Project Management Skills for Educators was developed in 2010 as a professional development experience in project management skills for K‐12 educators who are implementing cooperative learning environments and project based activities to help their students learn content and life skills.
This seminar was created by The Institute for Educational Excellence and Entrepreneurship (3E Institute), College of Education, West Chester University of Pennsylvania, through a seed grant by Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF). PMIEF also provided access to leading project management expertise and materials.
Piloted in May and June of 2010, the seminar was conducted with two groups of 11 educators recruited from a dozen or so K‐12 schools in the Greater Philadelphia region. Subsequent revisions were based on feedback from focus groups and evaluation rating scales administered at the conclusion of each session. Overall responses from both pilot groups were overwhelmingly positive, with encouragements for the 3E Institute to provide more curricula in this domain.
