PMIEF offers a Project Management Fundamentals digital badge for students aged 12–19 years who have developed project management skills and knowledge in school or as part of an extracurricular activity.
Digital badges provide evidence of proficiency, rather than just classroom hours, and are easily shared with interested parties through job sites, social media, and other websites using the digital backpack. Because the badge includes embedded information, including the issuer and criteria for earning it, it is easily verified and provides its own context when shared.
Benefits of Digital Student Badging
Learning can take place in any number of ways – in a classroom, as part of an extracurricular activity, and in informal or self-guided settings. A growing number of students in today's world have diverse skill sets that may not be neatly documented on their high school transcripts because the learning took place outside of school or, as is often the case with project management, as part of another class.
Digital badges allow students to provide easily verifiable evidence of learning and skills they have gained, no matter where the learning took place, which is then easily shared with interested parties, such as college admissions officers or potential employers. Additionally, in the case of the PMIEF’s Project Management Fundamentals digital badge, schools or sponsoring organizations receive data on all of their students who take the badge test, allowing for verifiable evaluation of student learning.
