PMIEF’s Capacity-Building Grant Combats Malnutrition in Cote d'Ivoire
PMIEF’s recent US$ 175,000 grant to Helen Keller International (“HKI”) will enable the organization to build the project management capacity of its partners serving on National Nutrition Council (“NNC”) in Cote d'Ivoire. The PM Capable Nonprofits grant supports HKI’s collaboration with the NNC to execute 20 large-scale, nationwide projects as part of its strategic plan to combat the country’s pandemic malnutrition. These projects include activities to mitigate the micronutrient deficiency of target groups, to reduce acute malnutrition and mortality among vulnerable children under age five, and to provide households access to safe drinking water. Additional supporters of the NNC’s strategic plan include the African Development Bank and World Bank.
