The Pro Bono Contributions of Caterpillar’s Global Program Management Team Increases the Capacity of the Children’s Home Association to Better Serve Children, Youth and Families throughout the State of Illinois.
Caterpillar Inc. is the 2016 recipient of the PMI Educational Foundation’s Community Advancement through Project Management Award in the Corporation or Government Agency Category.
Applicants in three categories – Individual Project Manager, PMI Chapter and Corporation/Government Agency – are required to leverage their specialized skills and innovative thinking to help nonprofits/nongovernmental agencies to design or manage a project that addresses critical organizational issues.
Selected by an independent panel of expert judges, the Caterpillar Global Project Management Team is distinguished for their work with managers of the largest family services agency in the State of Illinois – the Children’s Home Association.
Chartered 150 years ago, 400 Children’s Home of Illinois staff serve more than 1,700 individuals each month through counseling, education and family-focused support programs.
Caterpillar project managers provided project management training and one-to-one mentoring that resulted in the directors of three key program areas implementing a project management portfolio model and establishing an evaluation and reporting process to ensure accountability and monitor progress.
The PMI Educational Foundation extends our sincere thanks and appreciation to Caterpillar, Jeff Zircher, Manager of the Global Program Management Team, and his colleagues for their outstanding project management pro bono contributions.
We are grateful for the partnership of Hewlett-Packard Enterprise for the company’s support of the Awards program and for “accelerating” the PMI Chapter Category!
